Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn AC was sworn in as Australia’s 28th Governor-General on 1 July 2024. Before her appointment, she had a distinguished career in business, governance and public service, with leadership roles spanning the corporate, sporting, cultural and not-for-profit sectors. She served as an AFL Commissioner and has been closely involved with organisations concerned with the arts, sustainability, social policy and community service. In 2024, she was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia for eminent service across a broad range of fields. As Governor-General, she represents the Crown and performs important constitutional, ceremonial and community duties throughout Australia.
