Murray Rose Pool - Redleaf - Double Bay

The Murray Rose Pool also known as Redleaf Pool holds a special place in my heart. The pool was renamed in 2012 after Murray Rose the Olympic swimmer. I look at the pool from my studio which can be seen in the background of this painting up on the hill. I live on the seventh floor of an apartment building and Murray Rose used to live on the sixth floor directly beneath us before he passed away in 2012 with this adorable and beautiful ballerina wife. He was such a gentle quiet person and I had no idea who he was until somebody in the building alerted me to his world famous status as an Olympic swimmer - . he was a six-time Olympic medalist, and at one time held the world records in the 400-metre, 800-metre, and 1500-metre freestyle. He was always courteous and polite and very unassuming. In a way this picture is dedicated to him.
